     George W. Hockersmith was reported as age 21 and born in KY. according to the 1850 Census.1 He was the son of Benjamin Hockersmith and Mary (Polly) Grisham.1

George W. Hockersmith married Mary C. Walker, daughter of George Walker, on 4 September 1850 at Marion Co., Oregon, when he was 22.

George W. Hockersmith was enumerated with Benjamin Hockersmith as George W. Hockersmith on the Census of 26 September 1850 at Fox Township, Davis Co., Iowa. He was listed as a farmer, age 21, and born in Kentucky He could not read or write.2

George W. Hockersmith married Caroline Swinney on 29 January 1865 at Lane Co., Orgeon, when he was 36.3
