Sidney B. Hockersmith was born in Randolph County, Missouri. Although the History of Davis County, Iowa gives his place of birth as Randolph County, VA., all other records are consistant that he was born in Missouri.5 He was the son of John Hockersmith and Lucinda Henderson.1,2

Alexander, a native of Indiana, and they have three children, Mary L., James T., and John A. Mr. H. is a member of the Regular Baptist Church.
