     George Gravitt was born on 26 July 1733 at St. Paul's Parrish, King George Co., Virginia.2,3 He was the son of John Gravat and Elizabeth (?).2

George Gravitt obtained a land patent on 4 July 1768 at Spotsylvania Co., Virginia; purchased 125 a. from John Deatherage.4 He was on the tax roll in 1787 at Spotsylvania Co., Virginia, He was assessed tax on two horses and 10 cows.5

George Gravitt died before 4 December 1798 at Spotsylvania Co., Virginia.1,6,7,3

His estate was probated on 4 December 1798 at Spotsylvania Co., Virginia; Ex. wife, Caty Gravatt and son John Gravatt. Leg. wife Caty Gravatt; son Robert; son John; granddaughter Caty Fagg.8
