James Henson Gravitt
     

James Henson Gravitt was also known as James H Gravett.3 He was born on 14 July 1834 at Clark Co., Kentucky.4,5,6,7 He was the son of Thomas J. Gravitt and Mary Ellen Rison.1,2

James Henson Gravitt was enumerated with Thomas J. Gravitt as James Gravitt on the Census of 7 September 1850 at Estill Co., Kentucky. He is shown as age 16 and born in Kentucky.2

James Henson Gravitt and John William Gravett were subjects of a guardian settlement on 23 January 1852 at Clark Co., Kentucky.8

James Henson Gravitt married Elizabeth Bell, daughter of Thomas B. Bell and Elizabeth (Elisa) Hockersmith, on 15 August 1855 at Davis Co., Iowa, when he was 21.9

In April 1913 at Bloomfield, Davis Co., Iowa, Elizabeth Bell was named as James Henson Gravitt's wife in James Henson's obituary. William T. Gravitt, James Bell Gravitt, Samuel Andrew Joseph Risen Christopher Columbus Gravitt, Albert N. Gravitt and Henry Irvin Gravitt was/were named as James Henson Gravitt's son in James Henson's obituary. Melissa Ann Ashby, Mary E. Gravitt, Sarah Frances McClain, Martha E. Gravitt, Nancy Elizabeth Stogdill, Virginia Rosealind Goode, Angeline Cordelia Channell, Mina Lucinda Stogdill and Belle Myra Whicker was/were named as James Henson Gravitt's daughter in James Henson's obituary.18
