     Emery Emmet Ashby was born on 17 March 1882 at Iowa.4,5,6,7 He was the son of George Washington Ashby and Melissa Ann Gravitt.1,2,3

Emery Emmet Ashby was enumerated with George Washington Ashby as Emery E. Ashby on the Census of 22 June 1900. His was listed as a son, age 18, born in Iowa in Mar. 1882, and single. He was a farm laborer and could read and write.8

Emery Emmet Ashby was listed in the household of George Washington Ashby on the 1905 Iowa State Census at Franklin Township, Appanoose Co., Iowa. Other members of the household were Melissa Ann Gravitt, Clyde Hinson Ashby, Alice O. Ashby, Howard Ray Ashby and Grover Everett Ashby.9

Emery Emmet Ashby married Nannie Cole between 1920 and 1930.15

Emery Emmet Ashby died on 10 November 1928 (probably in Lake Co., Indiana) at age 46 years, 7 months and 24 days. Cancer was the cause of death.6,7

Emery Emmet Ashby was shown as a brother of Howard Ray Ashby in Howard Ray's obituary on 24 January 1967 at Centerville, Appanoose Co., Iowa. Listed as deceased.16,17

Arrington and wife Okra Arrington, of Buncombe County, North Carolina, Parties of the Second Part hereinafter designated Grantees.

    Now therefore, in consideration of the sum of One ($!.00) Dollar and other valuable considerations paid to the Grantor by the Grantees, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, Grantor has bargained and sold and by these presents does bargain grant sell and convey to the said Grantees, and their heirs all that certain piece, parcel of lot of land lying and being in Leicester Township, Buncombe County, North Carolina on Gooch's Branch and being lot # 8 in the division of the Malissa Cole lands particularly described as follows.
