    She is found in the 1870 Wayne Co., IA census living with the Aaron Walter Bills family in Promise City, Wayne Co., IA. Her name is Mrs. Loudemia J. Stout and she has two little boys named Elvin Richard Stout and William Perry Stout, both born in KS. A year later she married Flavius Bills, son of Aaron Walter and the family moved from Wayne Co., IA to Putnam Co., MO on 20 March 1873. William Perry remained living with the Aaron Bills family while Elvin Richard moved with his mother and stepfather to Missouri. From then on he used the surname Bills rather than Stout.

The historical museum and library in Linn Co., KS had the 1865 state census and it showed Spencer with his wife Jane, born Iowa. Her age was right and Jane was her middle name. I seem to remember that in one other instance she used Jane instead of Loudemia.
