Elisha Polk Baugh was born on 7 July 1798 at Powhatan Co., Virginia.1 He was the son of Abraham Baugh and Martha Johnson.1
Abraham Baugh left a will on 25 June 1833 which listed Elisha Polk Baugh as his son. Betsy Baugh, William Johnson Baugh, Jesse Gill Baugh, Rowena Levridge, Abraham G. Baugh, Darius Baugh, Marcellus Baugh and Martha Ann Ellis were also listed in the will.2
